WARNING:

This blog is taking a NEW DIRECTION. In an attempt to work on what will become my book, I am writing stories of my life. Some of the posts here are graphic. If you are a survivor of sexual abuse, this blog may cause triggers.

I have gone from victim and survivor to thriver. My life now is one that I am thankful for. Peace and Love are like gentle whispers in my mind. I am comforted in knowing, Life Does Get Better. Love always wins if you have the courage to open your heart and let it in.

For the Love of Autumn

Silly me, I can't help but write about what I love.  I sang as I wrote this.  It may sound elementary to
write love letters such as this one.  And maybe, love letters are meant to be simple.  Who knows.
I love Autumn and I love singing and writing and crooning and swooning about how beautiful she really is!

Infatuation. . . it's true
some may say
Love at first sight. . . I think
happened one day

I saw pieces and bits of you
floating past my window. . .
all the colors of Fall
red, orange, brown and yellow

The breeze was whispering your name.

I couldn't stop thinking
I'm falling so hard for you
couldn't stop trying
to reach out and catch you

But the wind had picked up
and the colors were mixing
It was dream like, I struggled
to hold on, but missed it

I couldn't hold onto your name in the breeze.

And the wind just blew harder
as I reached the back door step
I looked up, and
saw you disappear and I wept.

How could something so lovely
stay only a short moment
Then all of the colors
so pretty, go dormant?
Will I hear your name in the breeze again?

After all this time
Love must be what I am feeling
You brought so much
to me, inside I am healing

The wind is bringing a sense
of joy and excitement
And the colors are mixing just like they did
I'm thinking of you, again

Oh, I'll catch your name in the breeze this time.
And I'll hold you forever
you won't go so far away
Maybe this time I'll be ready
and I'll keep you inside to stay

No snow flakes,
no blizzards
no ice cycles near us
No worries this time you come by

I'll catch your name in the breeze this time.
