Virtual Thoughts

What if thoughts were virtual. . . like they reached out like hands and touched those you were thinking about? Would you think twice when you stood in line at the grocery store while someone took their dear sweet time and made you late for an appointment? Or would you go ahead and allow those thoughts to reach out and touch the person ahead of you, leaving actual bruises on their face?

How would it feel to know that someone was praying for you through a moment of difficulty? Could you then feel their arms around your shoulders, comforting you?
Or what if they saw the tears you cried, sending caring thoughts and wiped those tears away? How would that make you feel?

In my head, I have been angry enough at times to kill people, going as far as thinking it through. At other times, I have been on my knees interceding for someone who needed a miracle. While other times, I have sent caring thoughts across the miles to a person I haven't seen in 10 years.

Think carefully! Your thoughts create reality! Send loving, caring thoughts, even to those to whom you would rather beat up. Create a peaceful environment around yourself.

I compare this to the Apostle Paul's analogy of the whole armor of God. The helmet of Salvation is a hedge of protection that keeps your mind from wandering to and fro, getting anxious about things you can't change, fearful about things that really don't deserve your attention. That helmet keeps you safe and keeps other safe from powerful thoughts that could otherwise bring harm.

Good thought Sharon and you may be right about our thoughts becoming reality.

I think it really would be useful if our thoughts could reach out and touch others. Particularly when someone is taking their good old time at the grocery store...it might be nice to give them a friendly little nudge.

You have no idea how badly I needed this today. You virtually reached out and touched me. If God will take care of even the smallest bird, surely he will care for me. :-) Thanks for the reminder, Sharon.

If you can think it, you can be it, see it, do it and live it.

Personally I try to live a joyous life. I may get down, but I have to get myself up because I can hardly stand myself. I go out, dig in the dirt or take pictures and look at the flowers or cuddle my pups and I know that, despite whatever trials, I am a joyful person and I know that I am loved.

thought become actions, actions become habits...easy to think you never did anything wrong, it was only a thought...let it cultivate though and the roots will reach your heart...

You are so right - thoughts do become actions. Acknowledging feelings/thoughts are one thing, letting them take the pleasure out of life and relationships is something entirely different.
